NEWS AND ANNOUNCEMENTS

Aragon High School is pleased to announce the 2009 class of the Aragon High School Athletic Hall of Fame.

Ann Kiyomura Hayashi, a graduate of Aragon class of 1973. Ann was the  1975  Wimbledon ladies' doubles tennis champion and 1980 Australian Open Finalist.

Mark Jorgensen, a graduate of Aragon class of 1963. Mark  was the Team and League Most Valuable Player for Aragon’s boys varsity basketball in 1962-63. It was the first varsity championship team in the schools’ history. Mark was also Aragons’ 1963 Athlete of the Year.

Sue and Steve Barizon, Sue was a 1970 graduate of Aragon. As parents of Aragon athletes from 1992 through 1997, Sue and Steve were instrumental is making numeous improvements to the Aragon athletic facilities. Sue still works as a grade level advisor at Aragon.

Lou Murgo, Lou has coached at Aragon since 1968. Lou won championships as a Varsity baseball coach and 10 championships as a Frosh-Soph basketball coach. He was Ron Bolin’s assistant on two CCS championship Basketball teams.

Britt Williams, Britt was head football coach from 1979 to 1999. Britt’s teams won 6 league championships, 2 sections championship and one state title.12 of his teams qualified for the section playoffs. After serving as head coach Britt also served as an assistant coach for 4 more league championship teams.

Jimmie Pryor, a 1990 graduate of Aragon. Jimmie was selected as school, county and state athlete of the year in 1990. A standout in football, basketball, and track and field, Jimmie capped off his senior year by winning the C.C.S. high jump championship.
