Cross Country and Track & Field

A 1971 graduate of Aragon, John dominated the county running scene and was selected Athlete of the Year his senior year. In Cross Country, John won the individual league title. In Track, John was the Region 1 champion in the 1 Mile. His time of 4:19 was a school record that lasted for 29 years.  At UC Davis, John won 2 individual championships and 2 team championships in Track and Cross Country. He was named All-American 3 times. John finished 7th place and 2nd place in Cross Country and Track respectively at the NCAA National meet. John was selected Division 2 Track Scholar-Athlete of the Year in 1975 and was inducted into the UC Davis Athletic Hall of Fame in 2004.
